Opportunities are here to:
A monthly circle in the yurt after services that is fun for adults and children over 12 (no experience required). Drums and basic instruction provided.
Groups can be focused on spiritual themes, such as the Soul Circle discussions, or social activities, such as circle dinners, as well as others.
Choir and String Ensemble groups enrich many of the Sunday services.
For 1 hour each week we experience different approaches through shared, rotating leadership, silent meditation, and group discussion.
“I came to SCUU to give my young children an opportunity to explore faith and religion, and to learn from the seven UU principles. Now that they are grown, I love the opportunity to make a difference in this small, tight-knit community. It is a gift to be able to contribute my time and talent to this congregation as well as benefit from the lessons I learn and relationships I make.” Cathy H.
“The first time I came to Sugarloaf, I knew I had found my spiritual home. The yurt gives the place a “tents not temples” kind of intimate feel. My children love to play on the beautiful property, especially down by the creek.” Tina G.
“It was a joyful day when I discovered Sugarloaf. I felt what I can only call a cosmic click – I knew I had found the sanctuary I had needed for so long.” Kathy B.
“I’ve always liked being a big fish in a small pond rather than the other way around. The other way means that it is harder to get to know everyone and not as well. SCUU is small enough so that I know everyone pretty well. That sense of “we are all in this together” is what I cherish about this church.” Jeff B.
