Scientific evidence shows that as we humans were evolving into Homo Sapiens, we sought out safe, dark caves.  There art was produced to tell stories, using darkness as a medium of often facing challenges and of vision. In pagan traditions, at this beginning of wintertime in the Wheel of the Year, the life-generating and life-sustaining king of the returning sun is born.  Each baby’s birth is a hopeful gift carrying the light within that can make life better.
