I should have mostly conceptualized this sermon before the upcoming national elections, but will speak it after they have taken place. Therefore, I must prepare for the unknown result, which will undoubtedly be prominent in our minds. This will lead us into the meaning of democracy and civic engagement as a Unitarian Universalist principle before, during, and after an election, whatever the result.
