Presenter: Peter Brooks

Prior to first contact in 1634 and the founding of Maryland in 1788, the land where you currently reside operated under a government called “The Great Law of Peace.”  Peter Brooks will demonstrate how the law was codified through the Seneca (Haudenosaunee) Thanksgiving Address which are the words that were spoken “before all else.”  This ceremony requires audience participation and in Peter’s interpretation becomes a “pep rally” for mother earth, so bring your drums, bells and whistles as we make a joyful noise of gratitude in the tradition of the first nations.
