Located in Germantown, Maryland, the Sugarloaf Coffeehouse presents musical performances of both regional, touring musicians and local artists.

Maryland singer/songwriter Mary Byrd Brown is a full-time, independently managed acoustic musician, songwriter and performer. She is critically acclaimed for her energetic and passionate performance art, and Mary is known in particular for her distinctive rich vocals and unique delivery; soaring voice...with warmth and delicate phrasing... her lilting vocal nuances give an endearing character to her music" (WCUW, Worcester MA). Gail & Charlie Davis
met in Chicago in 1982, and started singing together shortly therafter. Charlie plays guitar and Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer. Their original music ranges from folk to punk. Gail's succulent vocals adds a rich warm texture to the edgy compositions. They released their first cassette Decalogue in 1999.
