Sunday, Apr 5Service: Come Easter Us!
Rev. Megan Foley

Human lives are filled with the tension between death and life, between the tired old stuff and the new, hopeful way, between ashes and the tender green shoot.  Easter Sunday is a day when we remember that hope and life abounds even in the worst of times and situations. Come and be Eastered! This is a Community Worship service for all ages.

Tuesday, Apr 7Soul Circle Conversation: What Does It Mean to Be a People of Resilience? 7-9 pm
Rev. Megan Foley

Soul Circle is an open spiritual development group that uses the monthly Soul Circle packet to grow personally and as Unitarian Universalist people of faith. The Soul Circle Conversation for March's theme is "What Does It Mean to Be a People of Resilience?" will be held on Tuesday, April 7th from 7-9pm, in the Yurt. To read the packet - with exercises and food for thought to help the theme make a difference in YOUR life - click the link above. Take a look, and do the exercises or ask yourselves the questions that speak to you the most. Then come to our meeting to talk about your new understandings or struggles with people on similar paths in a safe, supportive environment, facilitated by Rev. Megan.  See you there!

Sunday, Apr 12Service: Meditation Service
Sugarloaf Meditation Circle

Sugarloaf Congregation is a spiritual community that welcomes questions, explores answers, and shares the lessons of life. This is also precisely what goes on in Sugarloaf's weekly Meditation Circle. The practice of meditation helps us feel calm, centered, and open as we bring our unique experiences and perspectives together to learn and grow in a positive, supportive environment. Join us this Sunday to experience spiritual growth through meditation, exploration and connection.

Arrive at 10:00 for meditation tips from Meditation Circle Members.

Sunday, Mar 6Sunday Meditation Service

The Sunday meditation circle meets for silent meditation, reading and sharing of insight on Sunday mornings at 9:00am, prior to the main service.

Welcome!

You’ve found your way to a remarkable congregation practicing a remarkable religion. Unitarian Universalism is a liberal, creedless faith, born out of the Judeo-Christian tradition, that takes two tasks to heart: freely exploring spiritual truth, using a broad range of religious sources and our own inspiration and reason as guides; and loving our neighbors without qualification, as best as we are able. At Sugarloaf in particular, you’ll find a range of people from a variety of backgrounds who come together regularly to celebrate what’s most important to them, support each other in life’s hard moments, and to be a part of a community that matters and cares.

Sugarloaf is located in an idyllic setting and is filled with friendly people. We invite you to come and experience our religious community at Sunday worship. You are welcome here whoever you are: however old or young, wherever you are from, whoever your ancestors were, and in whatever religion you were raised. You are welcome here whatever your gender and whomever you love. You are welcome with whatever abilities and limitations you have. We invite you to bring your whole self.* We know that your presence will enrich the Sugarloaf community – and that Sugarloaf will become a special place for you, too.

If you have any questions about the Sugarloaf Congregation of Unitarian Universalists, Unitarian Universalism in general, or just want further information, please don’t hesitate to call or email me. Better yet, just come down on Sunday morning and see what we have to offer. You’ll be glad you did.

See you at Sugarloaf,
Megan

The SCUU content management website is renewed, restored, sprung back to life.

    There's a pun there ...
  • Sunday, March 1, 2015

Hopefully we can get the site back online soon.

For visitors you may visit our visitor web page --> http://scuu.org/visitors/

Please note: The server is setup to show the "splat" page and not go to a backup web site so that the techies at Entirely Digital can see the issue and resolve it. If we bypass the error in the case of the system being down they can not debug or know what the issue is... Hence the splat page shows all the techie information of the error. The last error during the Great Web Crash of November 2013 resulted in making this change to facilitate resolving the issue. Plus the bypass can cause errors of its own.

The tech representative said they are aware of the problem. It is affecting many customers. We share a server with up to 1300 customers however I think we "only" share with 100 ish customers on our current server based on a conversation I had in 2013.

So the Tech representative says they are aware and they are working on the issue. My guess is that it is migration related.

    quite the pain.

This is the first time since November 2013 we've had to make this announcement.

I am arranging my altar to the tech gods. Hopefully that will help too ... I've considered lighting incense.

It is the nature of the cloud beast that we don't have complete control over our environment. There are setting to the server that we are not privy to. Entirely Digital holds the keys to control of the servers.

    Nevertheless, quite the pain.

We Will Have Church Service!!  Rev Megan writes "Hope to see you if you can make it, totally understand if you can't."
Tis 34 degrees the snow is melting in earnest.  The main roads are clear and in some places slushy.  There is no precipitation.  Provided you can shovel out of your own own driveways and neighborhood streets the road is clear.  I was able to drive up in a sedan and not skid at 7:20 am.  The snow is melting fast and the temperature is above freezing.
John P writes at 12:00 am -- "I just finished plowing the church driveway and parking areas.  Rt. 118 is clear but some freezing rain was apparent. I expect all secondary roads will be fine by 10:00 am tomorrow (or today, technically) as it continues to warm."

John P writes at 9:38 pm Saturday -- "If church is on, I will get there early and shovel the walkways and deck."

Thank You John for plowing.  Thank you for shoveling.
